Production of foamed glass-ceramics using furnace bottom ash and glass

چکیده
This research has produced foamed glass-ceramics from coal fired power station furnace bottom ash (FBA) and soda-lime-silica glass. The as-received FBA was wet milled with different additions of resultant slurry dried formed into a powder. powder pressed sintered at range temperatures fluxing agent (sodium tetraborate decahydrate), bubble stabilising additive (tri-sodium phosphate) bloating (calcium carbonate) this FBA-glass-ceramics. effect glass content sintering temperature on the properties ceramic foams are reported. A potential applications including thermal insulation biological filters for water wastewater treatment discussed. demonstrates that it is possible to engineer derived glass-ceramic by careful control composition processing conditions in order transform problematic waste commercially interesting materials.
